Hadith

The science of Hadith is the most virtuous and the highest knowledge among Islamic studies after the Noble Quran. By means of this science, we know the meaning and the aims of the words of Allah and the purposes of His provisions. Most of the provisions of the Quran, if not all of them, are general principles. For instance, Allah the Almighty says, "And establish the prayer and give zakat".

The Sunnah, the foundation of which were constituted by the science of Hadith, gives more details on what is concisely mentioned in the Quran, such as the prayer times, number of cycles of prayer, the obligatory and sunnah parts of prayer, its features, and the proper way of performing them. The sunnah also explains and clarifies what is unspecified in the Quran like the type of zakat, the minimum limits of wealth, the time of its payment, those on whom it is obligatory and so forth.

For this reason, the greatest scholars of Islam and the most famous of them have been the ones who have carried the Sunnah, memorized the hadiths, understood their secrets, analyzed their words, mastered their meanings and transmitted them. They are the aided ones who will continue to uphold the sunnah until the commandment of Allah comes.
